Arakicho once was a leisure venue in Edo era, situating less than an mile from the palace, where people went to enjoy a small pond and a water fall, just for a day out or less. There were Geishas in this town, and many great restaurants and tapas, and now it is still a place you can feel such days and enjoy great food and drink. I actually live in the middle of this town.
I visited this Lam BBQ place last night with my old friends, who are somehow related to Hokkaido. This type of Lam BBQ is called Genghis Khan and Hokkaido is the place for it, because of the shape of the round iron pot reminds of the shape of helmet of ancient Mongolian troops and of course some ideas that Mongolian love lam, but actually this is not Mongol oriented.
江戸時代には、江戸城から3キロもないここ荒木町はレジャーの地で、人々は小さな池の小さな滝を一日とかで楽しんでいたそうです。芸者さんもいて、数多くの料亭や居酒屋もあったのですが、いまでも、当時の名残を感じることもできるし、旨いもの、旨い酒も楽しめます。実際自分はこのど真ん中に住んでいます。
昨晩、このジンギスカン屋に、北海道に由来する古い友達と出かけました。ジンギスカンは北海道のものですが、その名前の由来は昔のモンゴル兵のヘルメットの形に鍋が似ていて、モンゴルと言えば羊肉ということとのことですが、モンゴル料理ではないんですよね。

My friend born and raised in Hokkaido took the lead on cooking on the table.

Cooked all ingredients in the pot and eat with soy sauce based dip with lot of grated apple.

全部の食材を鍋で料理して、すりおろしリンゴたっぷりの醤油だれでいただきました。
